Hey all I’m new here and could really use some help with this one! I lost my dad last summer and since then, I’ve had two dreams that really gave me chills.

In one dream, I was at my son’s game and I turned around to see my dad sitting alone in a corner. I could see very clearly what he was wearing and he was leaning forward, kind of stroking his beard. I said, “Dad, you’re here!” because I was surprised to see him. He just nodded and looked up at me, then I leaned over and hugged him. I turned back around and he was gone.

Then last night, I didn’t specifically dream of my dad but I did have a dream unlike any I’ve ever had before. I dreamed that I was flying through the sky and I kept going higher until I saw this tunnel of white light. I was drawn to it and I wanted to fly into it but I got scared thinking it meant I was going to leave the earth for good. I actually shrieked and woke myself up at that point.

If anyone has any insight into what one or both of these dreams might mean, I’d really appreciate it! Thank you!

This site has a good description of flying... except you have to determine how were you flying. Were you unfettered? Did it feel good or bad?

Google dreams of deceased loved ones. They will walk you through whether it was a comfort dream or a visitation.

To me, it sounds like you're trying to reestablish your strength after severe grief from loss. Flying helps you feel empowered. It also sounds more like a visitation from your dad through the dream state. You could have been trying to follow your father's spirit as he went through his white light--not meant for you--but love makes you do weird things. I once tried to follow my cat, Chelsea's, blue string after she passed but it snapped and I felt back to my existence. I loved her so and it really hurt to let go. Flying helps.

Thank you so much. It really did feel like he was there with me, like a visitation dream as you say. I’ve read about them and it comforts me to think that may be what it was.
