I had a nightmare a few weeks ago where I found the severed head of my ancestor. When I say ancestor, I mean centuries past. I'm a direct descendent of Robert the Bruce, a well known Scottish king and warrior. He was infamous for his ruthlessness toward his enemies. The man had his own cousin killed in cold blood in order to claim the throne.

In the nightmare, I was walking down a medieval road at night. I go into a tavern briefly, where I notice a sickly looking figure in the corner watching me. I immediately leave. I run outside and trip over wooden box. The box falls open and in it is the severed head of Robert the Bruce. I back away from it, terrified. I'm then attacked and bitten on the neck by the figure from the tavern, who turns out to be a vampire. That's when I woke up screaming. I was so frightened that I was trembling and too scared to go back to sleep.

I've had many, many nightmares in the 25 years I've been alive, but none of them like this. This one was the scariest one yet. I was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me what it could possibly mean? I just can't stop thinking about it.
