Awhile ago I had a very frightening and strange dream. It becomes very personal, but I'm open to what it could possibly mean.
The dream was located in South America, which I knew for some reason, and it took place in a jungle like area. I don't remember there being a beginning, but it started out with me being chased by a group of people. Specifically, they were the Aztecs. Now, this didn't take place in the modern era, but I was wearing my normal clothes and shoes, etc. My brain told me they were "the Aztecs", but they were all white men wearing weird tribal clothes. However, they all looked like the same person. I don't remember ever seeing this person outside of my dream.
They chased me for awhile, and I remember being very very scared. I did NOT want them to catch me. Eventually, they did. We then appeared somewhere at a temple surrounded by a lot of nature, trees, and overgrowth. I was tied down to a "sacrificial stone", it specifically looked like the Aztec Sun Stone, or Calendar stone. My brain told me that they assaulted me, even though it wasn't shown to me. After that, they began eating me alive. I mean straight up cannibalism. I was horrified and in my dream, I remember screaming at the top of my lunges but nothing was coming out. I didn't feel pain, but I knew it was extremely painful. Before I woke up, I remember seeing someone I know from a sport I manage who graduated the past year. We never really talked but he was just there. I remember waking up panicked and confused.

To give a little context, this dream happened during or after we talked about the Aztecs in my Art History class. I enjoyed the unit a lot. My teacher was female, and I like her a lot (I'm in some of her other classes). There was one guy in my class, and we were very good friends.

Dreams often reflect reality. Because you had just learned about the Aztecs, your brain was still focusing on them. And since these thoughts had nowhere to go, they were forced into your dreams.
