ex to the rescue was created by prettyprincesskage
About a week or so ago i had a weird dream involving my ex. I was at the local pool and so was he. I was minding my own business and was walking off to the restroom by myself and nobody else was around. Suddenly, 2 guys come over and try to attack me. Then, out of nowhere, my ex shows up and starts fighting both of them. All the while that this is going on, I hear his voice echoing with the words he told me a few days before when we talked. I heard him saying, "You'll always be my girl." and "You know I still love you, right?" Ever since then I have been thinking about him non-stop. Other information not in the dream that might be helpful is that I broke up with him about 2 months ago and we were in a relationship for almost a year. I would really like to know what this means if anybody can help me.
Thanks,
Kayle

Dreams about an ex can be very misleading. Often dreamers think that if it's a great dream about the ex, that they should get back together with them. But, such dreams are often expressing your attraction/admiration/love for the qualities that he or she had which are missing in your life or in your current relationship. Here's a link to the full definition of an ex in a dream: dreamdoctor.com/dream-dictionary/definitions/ex-lover.html Bottom line, this dream is not a conclusive "sign" that you should get back together. For more information about an ex in a dream, be sure to check out the "meaning of: ex-lover (video)" in the "Listen Now!" section of the www.dreamdoctor.com homepage.
What's more important and significant about your dream is the fact that you were attacked by some guys. That suggests that you were feeling under attack somewhere in your waking life when you had the dream. Here's a link to its definition: dreamdoctor.com/dream-dictionary/definitions/attacked.html The fact that you were walking toward the bathroom when it happened provides a clue as to the area of your life where you were feeling vulnerable (perhaps in the dating world?) and their identity. Hope this helps!

Dreams are self-created. They are "you" talking to "you" about how you feel about what's most important to you in your life. Your mind conjured up his voice in your dream because he represents the qualities you crave right now, because you are feeling unsafe and under attack. It doesn't mean that he was communicating to you through your dreams... only that the kind of safety and reassurance that he once represented (symbolized by his voice and words in your dream), is what you want. The important thing to recognize is that you are feeling vulnerable, not only in your dream, but in your waking life. His voice is only a symbol. If you feel that he's really capable of providing that for you in waking life, you need to weigh that against all of the factors that caused him to become your ex. Your dream isn't telling you that you want to go back to him or even that he is the solution. It's telling you that you want those qualities in a partner. He's your ex for a reason. If you're going to go back there, consider everything that goes with it. If you still want to proceed, make sure he steps up.
