  • Hi, I'm Carolina, I'm 17, I dreamed I was sitting at my computer chatting with some friends, but suddenly an old telephone started ringing. It was a really old phone, a rotary phone. On that call, I got a message saying I needed to end chatting with my friends. I explained I wouldn't leave them and, hanged up and continued chatting with them.

  • Hi Carolina -

Your dream is all about communication... old and new... and how you were feeling about it at the time of the dream. Here's a link to the meaning of phones in dreams:

    dreamdoctor.com/dream-dictionary/definitions/phone.html

Computers are also symbols of communication as you were using it to "chat." Here are some links to some relevant symbols explored in the Dream Wizard App for young dreamers that will help you explore its meaning more thoroughly...

    dreamdoctor.com/im/text/imtext.html

It's hard to say for sure without knowing what was going on in your life at the time of the dream, but it seems as if the dream is about an "old" connection or relationship that is/was trying to insert itself into your current social interactions. In this case, the old phone might represent your parents or an old friendship that is trying to get your attention again. The act of hanging up on him/her/them reflects some anger and/or frustration on your part, thus the desire to "disconnect."

Does that help? Please share with us what or who you think it was.

    Thanks and good luck!

I think computers are like fixed patterns in our minds. The old phone is telling you that face to face connection is better than computer chat but you are a creature of habit.
