demonic reflection in mirror? was created by mikrro
I had a dream that my Grandmother (my dad's mom) and 2 other old ladies (who I don't know) are sitting around a table with me. I'm not sure where we are exactly - an unknown room. There is some talking amongst us and suddenly to my right something demonic/evil occurs. I don't look and instead turn my head to the left. I feel extremely afraid. My Grandmother suddenly turns suspicious that I don't look to the right. Next thing I know the 2 ladies I don't know are gone, and my Grandmother is beckoning me to come stand before the mirror with her. I'm really nervous and frightened to do so. She is eerily calm and keeps asking me to come close to the mirror. I finally make my way to the mirror and lean close. Suddenly my reflection shows a demonic face upon mine. I go to scream out in fear, but all I hear instead is the demon howling. Then my Grandmother is praying something in a different language. I kept thinking that she is "exorcising" my spirit. I was afraid that I was possessed and was going to hell. Very scary feeling.
After that I woke up so scared, and afraid to even move or open my eyes. When I woke I remember thinking I definitely had this dream before except I didn't scream after looking in the mirror. Hours later I don't recall having this dream before. Not sure if that's important.
Also, my Grandmother is extremely religious. She's always been someone I associate with religion and spirituality. I don't really have any 'main issues' in my waking life. Work is a little crazy getting ready for the school year, and I recently have overcome my depression recurring. But other than that nothing more.

What a powerful dream! You describe it very well in all of its horror, as well as provide the all-important waking life background, which helps bring its meaning into clear focus.
Your dream is an amazing depiction of your internal struggle with depression. The demon is your depression. Here's a link to this dream dictionary's definition of demon , which helps confirm it.
There is good news and bad news about your dream. The bad news is that it (your depression) continues to terrify you. The good news is that you are willing face it (your depression.)
Grandmothers in dreams are often wisdom figures. You describe her as being "extremely religious," which suggests that she represents spirituality/religion/faith to you in that struggle. You look in the mirror. A mirror in a dream "reflects how dreamers feel that they are being seen by others in waking life, albeit symbolically."
The demon appears "upon" your face. You try to scream, but only hear its howls... reflecting your concern that it (the depression), will drown you out. Being unable to scream in a dream is another strong symbol. The dictionary definition of " can't scream " in dreams sums it up.
In the end, you hope that your "grandmother" will be able to "exorcise" the demon, but you aren't confident that it will be enough. The fact that she is speaking in a foreign language compounds your doubts, leaving you terrified. There is a message in that.
The Dream Doctor says that "feelings in dreams are never disguised... that how you feel in your dream is how you feel about its subject in your waking life." Clearly, you are terrified in your dream. However, you say that "I recently have overcome my depression recurring." Your dream shows how scared you are about its recurrence. Your dream is a cry for help from you to you.
Depression is a horribly insidious condition. Your dream shows that you are ready to face your "demon," but also that you also want help. There is no reason for you to have to confront it alone. If you haven't already, talk to your doctor about it and share this dream, as it reflects your strong feelings of concern. Or, there are many resources about depression that can be found online. Interestingly, the Dream Doctor's sister won a Peabody Award for her PBS documentary on depression, called "Out of the Shadows." It might offer some suggestions for you. You can learn more about it here .
Keep watching your dreams. They will tell you how well you are doing.
Wishing you love, happiness and light!
