So.. I have dreams that more or less always have come true in a way. But I cannot figure out how literal I have to take this dream that I've dreamed about a month ago.

I have still some issues with my boyfriend considering how serious our relationship is and get unsure about how serious he is taking us. That was definitely something that has been in the back of my mind. Which could explain somehting at least. So the actualy dream goes as follows:

I am sitting in a limousine with him. It is our wedding day and my dad is in front making some embarassing joke but the overall atmosphere was good. In that limo I was still unsure on if he really wanted to do this. But all of a sudden he says to me:

So did you sign the papers? I ask which papers? Yeah that is this rule here ( this is in another country where hes from). You have to sign for how many years you're at least going to be married.

I ask: so what did you put in there?
    he said: 8
I ask: and after that you just extend the document?
    he says: yes exactly.

But in the dream he was really determined on getting married with me.
I even saw the venue, and remembered the name of the hotel. We were in a room with windows that at the same time were doors , and outside was a swimming pool and tenniscourt.

plus maybe an important detail: ive never dreamed about marrying any of my former boyfriends.

    Anyone can enlighten me?

Your dream reflects your feelings about your relationship with your boyfriend... feelings that you are already aware of based on the background you provided. Your dream expresses your feelings of apprehension about his commitment and seriousness about your relationship. The symbols in your dream support that, as well as your sense that the relationship feels impermanent and at a point of transition. Here are links to the definitions of the key symbols on this site:

    wedding: dreamdoctor.com/dream-dictionary/definitions/wedding.html
    car (variation of limo): dreamdoctor.com/dream-dictionary/definitions/car.html
    hotel: dreamdoctor.com/dream-dictionary/definitions/hotel.html
    window: dreamdoctor.com/dream-dictionary/definitions/window.html
    door: dreamdoctor.com/dream-dictionary/definitions/door.html

How your boyfriend feels in the dream is a reflection of YOUR sense of his commitment, not his in real life. He says that he's determined, but his contract gives him (and you) an "out" in 8 years. What better way to communicate to yourself that he's not "all in." The good news is that you already know that. The dream in NOT a psychic vision that you will get married one day. You might, but hopefully on your own terms. Your dream and sense of the matter are telling you that he's not fully committed. Whether it ever happens is up to the two of you. If you want someone who is fully committed, he's not the guy... at least, not right now. That may change, and if it does, your dreams will confirm it.

For further confirmation, how did you feel IN the dream? Were you reassured by this 8 year, renewable contract or disappointed? Feelings in dreams are never disguised, so how you felt IN your dream (not after you woke up) is how you really feel about its subject in waking life.

No one is perfect, but there's no reason to settle for lesser terms in a relationship or marriage than you want.

    Hope that helps! Good luck!

Thanks pammap! This makes a lot of sense to me now!
After I had this dream, we had a sort of 'turning point' that actually questionned how serious he is but he reassured me that he is verbally and non-verbally.

I indeed think this was also very much about how I felt, I wasn't sure.
In the dream I was happy but also not comfortable in a 100% level, as I indeed am (still) in real life. But thats just because I really like him and we didn't get to that level of comfort yet ( though we have improved).

Maybe i should just open some more 'windows' and doors and be open to him everytime I feel unsure of something, that has helped me now

    Thanks!!
