  • Last night I dreamt that I was driving in a brand new car around my hometown, with not a care in the world. I knew I should be or could be doing something else, like school work, but at the same time, I could drive anywhere I wanted to and knew that I would not really face any consequences. I would be just fine. I aimlessly drove and drove, until I decided to park in a shopping center and decide on a destination or where I should go from there. When I finally decided that maybe I should go see a friend, I pulled out of the parking spot to exit the shopping mall and heard a "clunk" and looked down to see my car stalled. I tried to restart it, and it made no noise at all. I coasted and pulled over and put the hazard lights on, concerned that I would possibly stall traffic behind me. However, people went around me and weren't bothered at all that I was pulled over. I opened the glove compartment to look for the car manual and it was a mess packed with trinkets and knick knacks from my past. I couldn't close it, so I left it open and pulled out the manual that was underneath all of the stuff. I was looking for an answer in the car manual regarding why the car had stalled and told myself that I never had these issues in my car, that's when I realized it was a new car. When I tried to start the engine again, it had a charge, but stalled again. Then I told myself I had to wait for it (alternator) to charge and then I could get it going at least for a few miles. At that point, I wasn't too worried or concerned and knew that no matter what I encountered, even if it stopped again, I would be just fine.

The dream then briefly cut to me watching myself in a convertible car -all happy with my hair in the wind- talking to my mom on my cell phone and telling her I was pregnant, but that I didn't feel pregnant.

THEN, I was suddenly at home, safe and sound, looking at my tummy in the mirror and realizing I WAS indeed pregnant. I felt the baby move and was elated!! I looked in the mirror again and could SEE the outline of the baby's head, ears, nose, etc. I caressed the baby through my belly and spoke to it. I could see his/her mouth open and I was concerned that maybe I was further along than I thought (8-9 months) and the baby may suffocate, but I soon talked myself out of those thoughts and I woke up.

I am 42, with grown children, so I know what being pregnant feels like. This was a crazy dream!

Btw, I am usually the passenger, or sitting in the back seat of my car in my driving dreams. Even when I am driving from the passenger or back seat, the car usually has no brakes, but I can eventually make the car come to a full stop after it skids. This was a fairly new dream for me. What does it mean?

  • There is a lot of information in your dream, so I will just give a summary version here. You have spent a long time going where life takes you, whether it was family/kids, education/work,etc. Now, things aren't so busy for you and you are realizing that there is something you'd like to do/try. At one time you may have 'stalled' and was looking for a healing or renewal of sorts...possibly of a devine nature. This downtime was much needed in allowing new ideas to come to you. Now, you see yourself on a path to start something new(even with your nervous doubts). The anticipation of 'giving birth' to your new idea is testing your patience and adding to your doubts. Be patient and keep making good choices to achieving your goal. Hope this helps, God bless.
