I'd like to know if anyone has experienced similar. In real life, my partner died suddenly and unexpectedly six months ago. We had a very loving and close relationship and I miss him constantly. Yet I've never dreamt of him, nor did I when he was alive (although I've dreamt of other deceased loved ones frequently)

However I frequently dream of an ex I split from almost twenty years ago. In the dreams he's usually dumping me for another woman, or semi-dumping me but intimating that he might come back. In real life it was I who split from this ex, it was amicable, more than a decade before I met my late partner, and I am not in contact with this ex at all. So why do I keep dreaming of him?
