  • Lovely small waterfall with what seemed to be two skinny-looking kids and I playing in it after someone (I think who I know in real life) gave us permission to (never saw them, I rarely see myself and even more rarely see other people I actually know in my dream). We slide down the water fall, but realize at the end it turns into some sort of river-like vortex they get sucked into but I pulled them both out and us all to safety (pretty brave for me, I’m not brave, but have been known to be brave in the defense of others). The next part of the dream was a lot like a scary video game like RE:Biohazard or Outlast. Worth noting, I love scary movies and games. In the dream, there’s a monster (a huge blob of black oil-like goop) that’s following me (alone now but I feel as if others aren’t far?) around a big fancy house that’s covered in blood, mysteries, and looks old and run-down. As I run around trying to escape, I keep passing by these two bloody treasure chests that lead into a hall that I somehow know houses mysteries and the answers to some of my questions, but I bypass this room thinking maybe I’d rather not and plus I’m still running from the monster. At some point a door opens into a huge, dark room (more like a cavern),!seemingly a place where monsters thrive. I’m there with other people I think I should know but don’t feel any kinship. I somehow escape using this room by climbing some tall demon trees? I was awoken by my cat coughing up a hair ball on my carpet and promptly got to cleaning (I never try to make him feel bad for this, even if it’s at 3AM (-_-), which it was.

So I don’t recall all of the dream nor did I get to finish it.

Please let me know your thoughts? Might be helpful to note that it’s not uncommon for me to have vivid but seemingly pointless dreams. Rarely involving my real life.

I would really appreciate any insight. Thank you all very much for reading!!

  • There are features of this sequence that are very similar to dreams I used to have growing up.
The waterfall, I would say, probably represents emotional transportation, an exhilarating one.  Water is a powerful element and it comes in all forms (lakes, rivers, oceans, water bottles...the way it moves and the type of body it holds is always significant).  It's interesting that it was a source of playing for you at first, but then turned into something that these kids needed to be saved from.  I'd pay attention to the other person who you were communicating with, and assess what type of regard/feelings serve as the foundation for your relationship with them.  Is this a person who has the authority to require permission in general?
The goop is interesting - a bit ambiguous, but clearly, one should run away from it.  It reminds me of games I used to play with older brothers, who wanted to get a rise from me, and put a little pep in my step.  Do you know anyone who would enjoy psychologically chasing you and see it as a game?
The treasure chests being bloody makes them sound daunting, but perhaps more valuable, they contain truths that you may already know but are scared (or distracted) from looking at.  Sometimes the truth sucks.
The people you should know, but don't feel close to possibly indicates that there are people in close proximity to you, but with whom you feel little to no intimacy or trust for. Maybe there is safety in numbers, but it lacks a sense of fulfillment.
    I hope this helped!
