    Hi everyone!

Usually I don't have much trouble interpreting my dreams but I had one last night I'm having difficulty with. I dreamt I stepped out onto a balcony of scaffolding with a beautiful night view of the city, I started to feel the scaffolding move and it gradually collapsed, as it hit the ground I jumped up and looked up at a balcony I wanted to get back up to in order to see the view I noticed it had two broken ladders, I then noticed a portable ladder that extends propped up against the wall and the dream ended there. Any help would be great.

    Thanks :)

Did you check out the meaning of the symbols in your dream? If not, here are links to their definitions on this site:

    high up (on balcony): dreamdoctor.com/dream-dictionary/definitions/high-up.html
    falling: dreamdoctor.com/dream-dictionary/definitions/falling.html
    ladder: dreamdoctor.com/dream-dictionary/definitions/ladder.html

Lots of symbolism in your dream. Cities in dreams are frequently symbolic of a career/work issue because buildings are where business is conducted. Ladders are also suggestive of career.. as in career ladder. Given that, your dream seems to reflect your feelings about your career. The dream starts with you, up high, able to see a bright and clear (career) future, but your foundation is not steady. It gives way slowly until you "hit the ground." That would seem to reflect a setback in your career... or a job dragging you down or going nowhere. The 2 broken ladders may be symbolic of 2 routes or attempts to get yourself back on track that either didn't or won't work for you. The good news is that you "jumped up," reflecting your commitment to recover. And, the "portable ladder propped up against the wall" suggests that you are feeling optimistic that there is or will be an alternative way for you to climb back up... albeit not a sturdy as a staircase.

Does any of that sound familiar given what you have recently experienced? If so, please share some of the specifics so we can all benefit from knowing what those symbols represented and how they worked in your dream.

    Thanks and good luck!
