  • Seemingly forbidden love??? Please Help was created by joegilmet
The dream starts when I meet up with and old lover of mine. We start talking as friends at first and the next thing I remember, we start kissing and groping and pick up the relationship pretty much where it left off. Then we plan to go to an event together, (I don't remember what the event was or it was never brought up.) and we are confronted by her friends first then mine. Both groups of friends were saying the same types of things like what her and I were doing was wrong and we would lose everything and continued to do this until we walked away from them to attend this "event". As we were walking, she looked at me with a beaten down look on her face that broke my heart and still bugs me in my waking life and asks me "Is this wrong?" and the last thing I said before I woke up was "I couldn't give a f*ck whether it's wrong or not. They just don't understand".

    Background info.

My waking life relationship with this girl started as a close friendship then progressed from there. At the time when we started exploring a romantic relationship, she was dating someone and had been for sometime before we even met. Our relationship did in fact break up the two, but I don't feel guilty about that because he was a lowlife that refused to work and had her supporting them both, so I don't think the dream is about that. Our break up pretty much mutual and wasn't at all a bad break up. In fact we have been close friends ever since and her and I are both in good relationships and at least I don't think I have any desire to rekindle anything we had.

The key symbols got from the dream were:

The love we had for each other .
    A “need” to stay together.
    Attending the unknown event.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Your dream is a common one. The old ex-lover dream. It feels so good in the dream, so right. Why did I break up with her/him? Is my dream telling me that we made a mistake and belong together?

    The short answer is... no!

As disappointing as that might seem, once you understand the symbol of an ex in a dream, the sooner you can attend to finding what you want. Here's a link to the definition on this site:

    ex-lover

It will explain not not why you had the dream, but help you begin to identify what aspects of that relationship you are currently missing. That missing connection in your waking life is what your ex symbolizes in your dream. There's an even better definition of an ex in a dream on the homepage of this site (in the Listen Now! section) that explains ex-lover dreams.

The good news is that once you identify those great qualities that you've been missing in a relationship, you can go out and find it. The reason why your ex isn't likely to be "the one" is that that there were other factors that made your breakup mutual, and odds are those haven't changed.

Hope that helps and makes your search for a good partner that much easier.
