What is the meaning of this recurring dream? was created by Chasing Par
I keep having this dream that I think is set in a time when I was a teenager.
In the dream, I am at the service station that we used to always go to when I was growing up with my mother and younger sister. My mother is getting gas for her car and having someone from the service station check over everything.
They then find something they need to work on with my mothers car and offer to let her use their old truck they used to loan people while they work on her car.
Me and my sister are then following my mother to the passenger side of the old tan Datsun pickup truck they used to loan her sometimes and it looks just like I remember it looking. My mother then is unlocking and opening the passenger side door of the truck for me and my sister to get in. Me and my sister then argue over who gets to sit by the window until my mother tell my sister she can sit by the window so she can see out and that I need to sit in the middle. I try to argue with my mother that I am taller and need the extra leg room but she tells me that we can both see out the window if I am in the middle. She then tell me to get in and buckle-up.
I then reluctantly get in the truck cab and scoot across the tan vinyl bench seat to the middle and then fasten the tan lap belt around my waist as my sister is sitting down in the passenger seat. As my sister is fastening her tan shoulder belt, my mother shuts the passenger side door closing us in the truck cab and then goes back into the service station.
Me and my sister then spend a long time sitting buckled in the truck cab waiting for our mother to get in. The truck cab looks just like I remember it with the tan vinyl bench seat; tan interior; stick shift; and steering wheel and gauges. It is not very pleasant waiting in the truck. My feet are on a bump so I have no legroom and my legs have to straddle the stick shift. My sister's body is rubbing against my right side and she has horrible breath that I have to smell when ever she talks or invades my space. The truck cab smells really bad also. While me and my sister sit and wait in the cab, my mother is nowhere to be seen.
After me and my sister have waited for what feels like forever, my mother is finally walking towards the truck and then unlocking the driver side door and then sitting down in the driver seat next to me. She closes her door and then puts the key in the ignition. As she does this, I notice her breath is even worse than my sisters. I am now having to deal with both of them rubbing against me and have to smell their breath as they talk to each other.
Eventually they stop talking and my mother turns the key to start the truck. The engine turns over but doesn't start-up. My mother keeps turning the key and pumping on the gas pedal, but every time it ends with a buzzing sound and dash full of red lights rather than the truck starting up. While my mother is trying to get the truck started, I fell trapped being buckled to the middle seat with my mother on my left side trying to get it started and my sister on my right side invading my space.
After my mother has spent a while trying to get the tuck started, she notices something really stinks in the truck and asks me and my sister if on of us my have stepped in dog poop. My sister quickly checks her shoes and says she didn't and then while I am trying to check mine my mother tells me I stepped in something and got it all over bump I had my feet on.
The dream usually ends with me still sitting between my mother and sister in the truck with my mother getting after me for stepping in poop and tracking it in the truck and my sister whining about how gross it is and how bad it smells.
I am hoping some people can let me know the meaning on this dream and all the things that happen in it.

I would say that this is a dream about being trapped or stuck in an emotional or physical way, perhaps coming from problems or fears, uncertainty in your life recently or in the near future and centred around people you are close to or yourself
it could also be interpreted to be you holding onto old habits that are no longer useful or needed, even habits that have become problems, thus making you feel paralysed, boxed in or trapped in an uncomfortable situation
the dream may also relate to your feeling powerless in a situation, or one in which you are controlled by others, so much so that you have lost your own identity or have at least started to feel something similar. Take this dream as a sign to re-evaluate you relationships with others and make sure that you are on an even playing field with them. Don’t let yourself be manipulated by others in deference to your own needs and desires. make sure you feel you are getting a fair deal and getting a return on what you invest in others or yourself
