I have been having a recurring dream that I enter a room, and at one end of the room is a huge spider web with a bunch of normal sized Black Widows in it. I am not afraid of spiders, as long as I see them first as opposed to suddenly walking into a spider's web; which, by the way, never happens in the dream. Instead, my reaction is more of curiosity as to why a bunch of Black Widows would be sharing a web. Spiders are not social creatures. Anyway the web extends from the floor to the ceiling and is several feet wide as well as a few feet deep. Sometimes the web obstructs my entry to the room. There is probably some symbolic significance here, though I am unure of what that is. In each occurrance of the dream, the room is never the same, the spider web is not the round orb type web, but a typical Black Widow's web on a grand scale. Thanks in advance for your replies.

First, it's important to familiarize yourself with the meaning of spiders and spider webs in dreams, 2 very common dream symbols. Here are links to their definitions on this site:

    spider: dreamdoctor.com/dream-dictionary/definitions/spider.html
    spider web: dreamdoctor.com/dream-dictionary/definitions/spider-web.html

From what you've described, your dream does not suggest a confusional arousal. Confusional arousals in which spiders appear invariably occur in the bedroom. They are also are usually scary dreams, and you say you are more curious about them.

The spider web obstructing your entry into the room is an important clue. Rooms in dreams often symbolize an area of your waking life. Details about the room, which you say is never the same, might help you identify whether the dream relates to a family, social, romantic, health or career issue. Here's a link to the definition of a room in a dream: dreamdoctor.com/dream-dictionary/definitions/room.html

Size in dreams matters. The fact that the spider web is "on a grand scale" is dream-speak for it is a big or "grand" issue in your waking life. Are there "creepy" people in your waking life trying to control you? Have they created a "sticky" situation/obstacle for you to deal with? Once you identify who they are that, these dreams should go away, especially if you find a way to avoid or dispense with them and/or the obstacles that you feel on some level they have put in your path.

To better understand how recurring dreams work, here's an explanation on this website: dreamdoctor.com/daily-dream/recurring-dreams.html

    Hope that helps!
