  • I had this dream this morning, that I was in a room and I got up from a chair. As I walked past a half length mirror, I saw my face in the mirror. Suddenly a large black creature, that was shaped like a torso, with no arms or head, shrouded my face. When this thing appeared, my face was now at its chest level. It scared the heck out of me. I woke up with a start. So much so, that I woke up my wife too.

What do you think this dream is trying to tell me? Thanks in advance for your response.

  • Dreams are expressions of your feelings about what is most important to you in your waking life. Feelings in dreams are never disguised, so how you feel IN your dream is how you feeling about its subject.

First, it's important to understand the meaning of the symbols in your dream. Here are some links to their definitions on this website:

    demon (black creature): dreamdoctor.com/dream-dictionary/definitions/demon.html

The dream appears to reflect your feelings or awareness that your dark side has surfaced and based on your reaction in the dream, it's scary. Try to pinpoint where in your waking life you feel as if you are not putting forth your "best self" or you feel guilty about how you've been or something you did.

As the dreamer, only you can validate what that might have been and the meaning of the dream.

    Hope that helps!

  • Thank you very much for the information. This totally relates to an incident I was involved in a week ago, where tempers flared. Luckily, no assault occurred on either myself or the other person. After the incident passed, I realized that I was WAY out of line, and the incident did not warrant the way that I reacted to it. It was just stupid behavior.

Thanks again for your quick response.

  • Thank you for taking the time to provide the background that generated your dream. It's amazing how consistent the language of dreams is!
