Animal - aquatic

Aquatic or marine animals, amphibians and echinoderms, because their habitat is water, symbolize people or forces in our waking life with a large emotional charge.  Fish in dreams are common fertility symbols, because they are small, primitive creatures that live in water, not unlike an embryo in the womb.  Sharks and barracudas in dreams commonly represent aggressive and predatory people, often in a business or sexual context.  Whales and dolphins in dreams are often associated with emotional and spiritual wisdom.  Whales can also represent people who "devour" everything in their path.  Eels in dreams are like underwater snakes; there’s an emotional situation in which you are afraid of being hurt or “bitten.”  An octopus or squid in a dream represents someone in your waking life who you fear will suffocate or envelope you in their tentacles or may be "grabby."  A swordfish frequently represents someone who you think is capable of attacking you emotionally or "stabbing you in the back." Sea animals with claws or spines, such as a crab, lobster, stingray, sea urchin and jellyfish, represent people who can "pinch" or "sting" you emotionally.
