Hi Sue -

Could you please tell us more about your relationship with this man? Is he a mentor figure? The dream appears to have religious/spiritual overtones, indicated by the candles and 3 steps. What are your associations and memories with the polished wood? Also, and perhaps most important, think back to 6 years ago, when the dream started, (according to one of your other e-mails).

What was occurring in your life at the time that you think may be related? Did a family member (father?, someone male) die or pass on?

Thank you for replying to my message. I will try to answer your questions as good as I can......

The man in my dream is (now) 57 y.o. and I have known him for about ten years. I belong to a Housing Co-op and he is the Chairperson and I the Secretary, so through our working together we formed a friendship. We never dated or anything.

Your question about someone passing on touched me as my father (whom I was extremely close to) passed away 6 years ago on the 2nd of next month. You asked me about wood which I can’t answer......I have no idea .......but I will continue to think about it, as this dream really mystifies me and I would like to know it’s true meaning.

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi Sue -

I am sorry to learn of your father’s passing, and I am sure you miss him very much. Based upon your response, I believe your father is the man you are, symbolically, dancing with in your dream. The dreams began six years ago, in concert with his death. The significance of the polished wood also is revealed - it most likely represents his casket.

It is natural for us to dream of those we love who are absent from us. I think your dream shows you love your father very much, and that you miss his presence in your life. The dream appears intimate and comforting. We know your father lives close with you in your heart.
