bad vision

Hi Zoe -

Dreams speak in metaphors, and your husband’s dreams are no exception. I suspect your husband is experiencing a bit of difficulty “seeing his way” through a current dilemma or concern. Cars in dreams typically represent our selves - the direction we are headed in our lives. The windscreen represents our conscious mind - the lens through which we perceive the waking world. The fact that your husband is driving in the dream (as opposed to being a passenger) suggests that he is the one who currently “can’t see his way.”

Ask your husband to comtemplate where he feels most “out of control” in his life. Is he experiencing uncertainty at work? If so, perhaps his concerns are financial; he may not be able to “see” where the money will come from to meet the next round of family expenses. Did a parent, family member, or close friend die recently? If so, it may have caused your husband to re-assess his goals in life. He may be experiencing a period of emotional and spiritual uncertainty on the “highway of life.”

Your husband also may be “blind” to the consequences of a certain relationship or behavior he currently is engaged in. In this sense, the dream is encouraging your husband to take careful inventory of behaviors and relationships in his life. What is he overlooking? What is he avoiding recognizing? Where has he been “blindly” optimistic? From a more literal perspective, the dream also may be warning about excess drug or alcohol use - both of which impair vision and judgment.

What’s the message of these dreams? It’s time to look at reality as honestly as possible - with both eyes open. As soon as your husband identifies his “blind spot,” he’s going to want to give it his full attention - and not let it out of his sight - until the problem is fixed!
