If you post a dream...

Be sure to provide some relevant information about the dreamer (age, gender, relationship status, etc.), as well as his/her waking life background. Because dreams are reflections of the dreamer's feelings, thoughts and awarenesses about their waking life at the time of the dream, this information should improve the quality of responses received.

  • I woke up in the night and remember vividly part of my dream which was standing at the bottom of the staircase / escalator there was an abnormally large slab of meat like a peice of steak and I can't remember if I was told or actually realised it was duck meat then I didn't go to pay for it I left the meat on the table and then I started moving up the stairs next to the table slowly or l was on an escalators standing or ascending slowly and in front of me there was a man greeting other people and he was smiling at them but we were both very aware of each other and attracted to each other Was he a butcher!? I don't know if l was paying him for the meat!

  • I have a few ideas of what your dream might mean, but it'd be helpful to know a few things about you first. Please describe your waking life background at the time of the dream, such as your age, relationship status (single, divorced, married, in a relationship), and what big issues/events/interests were on your mind at that time. How did you feel IN the dream? Finally, it'd be good to know a bit more about this slab of (duck) meat. How did you feel about it in the dream... was it appetizing, repulsive, tempting. Larger than average people/things in dreams usually reflect that they loom large in your life. What's your waking life take on duck meat, if anything... do you like it/hate it/never had it, etc.?

I look forward to reading your response.

  • Hi thank you for your interest
l am 54 single just starting to go out on date scene after many years met a man on line met fce to face and plan to meet again. I
I felt excited and happy and disappointed l woke up as l would have come face to face with the nan on the escalator When awake l was smiling thinking about it. I like duck meat and find it more greasy succulent than other meat generally. Not so dry.

I liked the man l met. After years of not dating l was not at all nervous when l met him and was suprisingly relaxed throughout

    Thanks

    Thanks again

  • The waking life background puts your dream into perfect context. Thank you.

Given the symbols in your dream, it's clear that your dream is about your reemergence on the dating scene. The key feelings in the dream (excited and happy) reflect how you feel about the subject of your dream in your waking life... finding that new man in your life. The disappoint you felt after having awakened because you missed seeing his face is not relevant to the meaning of the dream because it occurred when you were outside of the dream.

To better understand your dream, here are links to the definitions of the key symbols on this website:

    stairs: www.dreamdoctor.com/component/dreams/?co...task=details&id=1782
    escalator: www.dreamdoctor.com/component/dreams/?co...task=details&id=2149
    food: www.dreamdoctor.com/component/dreams/?co...&task=details&id=845
climbing (variation of ascending the escalator): www.dreamdoctor.com/component/dreams/?co...&task=details&id=488
    faceless: www.dreamdoctor.com/component/dreams/?co...&task=details&id=758

As an overview, your dream reflects your feelings excitement about finding Mr. Right. While it may turn out to be the guy you recently met, your dream doesn't reflect that or you would have seen his face. Still, the excitement caused by the good start at dating again is beautifully captured by your dream.

You are at the bottom of an escalator, rising slowly... symbolically reflecting your ascension/progress toward a personal goal... in this case of finding the right guy. It's not an accident that it's an escalator... in that you probably feel that the process of finding the right guy a bit mechanical... not a bad metaphor for online dating(?)

Food is a symbol of sensual and emotional nourishment... and your creative mind selected duck meat which by your own description is more "succulent" than other meat. And, you're looking for a great hunk of a guy, right... juicy... not dry?

Your dream reflects your excitement and happiness in the search... and the anticipation and confidence that you have that you will eventually find him.

What a great dream. I hope that they keep getting better... and that before long you will see his face... and know him!

    Hope that helps!
